Nora came into the world! She's beyond awesome. So tiny! I'll get a pic posted here as soon as I can, but I think I'm pals with everybody here either on Facebook, Randomville or someplace else, so you've probably already seen her.

The baby will be here soon
Wow. Just..wow.
It's been an emotional couple of days here. Friday I saw a sepcialist supposedly about my concerns with the Glyburide I'm taking for the gestational diabetes. He ended up not talking about that so much as his recommendation that I get enduced and have the baby THAT DAY if my blood pressure were up. Then he said "and your blood pressure will be high because of this conversation..."
He said since my blood pressue was a little high a couple of times, and with the protein in my urine, that it was for the best. This would have put the baby at 37.5 weeks. That's not *that* bad, but there could have been complicaitons with her breathing and feeding. Immediately after that I went to my regular Dr for a Non-Stress test. Everything with that was fine. MY BP was high, but they had me lay down and relax for a few minutes and it went way down. My urine was actually better than the last time, so that was really a good sign. I'm still not dialated at all. She's just not ready yet! During the non-stress test my sugar did DROP way down to 64, but that was mostly/all stress related. They gave me some orange juice (sweet sweet orange juice how I've missed you), and I was fine.
They reviewed everything, gave me the list of symptons to watch out for and told me to go IMMEDIATELY to the hospital in case I experienced any of them, put me on "moderate" bedrest (meaning I'm just hanging out not going to work and just generally taking it easy, but I'm not stuck lying in bed all day), and gave me an order to do another 24 hour collection to be turned in the next day so the results would be in by my appointment on Monday morning.
All in all, I'm still feeling really good. I'm tired as hell pretty much all the time and if you lay me on a couch or sit me in a chair odds are I'm going to fall alseep unless somebody is talking to me or I'm watching something really interesting.
The room is almost ready, we just need to finish putting the furniture together.
Mom and Grandma did my baby laundry for me, so that was good, we just need to buy a mattress and we're all set!

Saw this on somebody else's LJ. You can vote for your favorite animal shelter. The one with the most votes ends up with $10,000.
I voted for PAWS adoption center, in Middletown, OH. It's a no-kill shelter.
You should vote too!
Oh, and we got a puppy. If she ever sits still I'll post a picture. She's a black lab/beagle mix. Haven't named her yet. We're letting Jason's daughter make the final decision between Lucy or Sally

Wow, an update
But it's mostly to bitch.
The last couple of weeks have kinda sucked. 2 Fridays ago we had a crazy ice storm. On my way home, the people in front of me braked rather suddenly, and when I went to hit my brakes, nothing happened. Nothing. I've driven in snow and ice before, but I've never had anything like that happen. So next I tried to steer into the front yard of the people living along the street. Nothing again. So I'm frantically pumping my brakes and trying to steer one way or the other so I don't hit these people, and it was just not gonnna happen. I finally realize this and just kind of brace myself for the impact. I remember thinking "Oh shit I hope this doesn't hurt too much" right before it happened, and I also closed my eyes because I was a little afraid of the airbag going off. Luckily at the last microsecond my car did turn a bit, so I didn't hit them head on. I hit them on their back passenger side corner with my front driver side wheel corner area, and had scratches down my whole driver side. I finally went up onto the curb. Everybody was okay. The road was ridiclously icy. I almost slipped when I steped out of my car. The guy I hit thought it was hilarious that he could slide from my car to his without lifting his feet. The police didn't cite me. They said there was nothing I could do because of the road.
So, That wasn't that bad. The car was jacked up, and I know our rates will probably go up with our insurance company, but nobody got hurt, which was the most important thing. But, while I waited for the tow truck, I was stuck standing around in the snow (we gave up standing on the road because it was so slippery) with the police officer who was there staying with me for about 45 minutes. This all led to me having a horrible cold since then (it'll be 3 weeks this Friday). I'm going to the doctor Wednsday since I have the day off. It's been a weird cold though, I've mostly just been losing my voice very early in the morning and very late at night. Basically between 10:30 at night through 10:30 in the morning. THe rest of the day I'm a little scratchy, but for those hours it's crazy. I apparently sound like Katherine Hebpurn.
So last week, hit 3. Tuesday night Rosendolf went downstairs to get some sausage out for dinner and found 3 inches of standing water in the basement. It was bad. Really bad. It wasn't sewage or anything like that, thank God, but it was still bad. When all was said and done we didn't really end up losing much stuff, but it just seemed so bad at first. All the appliances still work, most of the important stuff was either in plastic tubs or up off the floor. We lost some books, some sentimental stuff and that's about it. We did have a couple of prelit Christmas trees down there, but they didn't get too wet. We haven't plugged them in yet,but I'm being optimistic about them.
This weekend we had a crazy snow storm. It basically snowed nonstop from 8:00 Friday morning through about 5:00 Saturday afternoon. All told we probably got about a foot to a foot and a half, depending on where you lived in the Tri-State. Thankfully Rosendolf's work let him off around noon Friday, and I followed at 2. It was fun to be snowed in at first, but then when we realized we didn't really have any milk or bread or lunchy type stuff, we got a little stir crazy. Mostly we played Nintendo, watched movies and hung out. It was nice and relaxing. I think we needed it.
And that brings us to yesterday. My battery was dead. In my obsession with making sure my headlights were on Friday for the drive home, I had accidentially turned my dome light on. So it basically drained the battery for the day and a half that it sat there. It sucked, especially since we were due for my sister's birthday dinner, but we were only a couple of hours late, and at least this time we had an excuse.
Okay, I'm done. That's my sad set of stories for the last couple of weeks. I'm just looking forward to some good luck now.
And to cap it off on a good note we hung out with the family and Olivia, who is now 3 and a half (!!!) was so sweet yesterday. She sat with me and asked me to read to her and told me she loved me lots of times, and "helped" me at Mario Party, and just made things seem a little less sucky.

What a way to start the year
I'm sick. Somehwere along the last 2 weeks of my throat hurting every morning, then going away a few hours after waking up, the cold has finally caught hold. It was bad on New Year's Eve day until 2 or so, then hit me hard on the first. Today is worse, with the sore throat compounded by a fuzzy headache, and hot and cold chills.
The job hunt is still going. Don't feel like I'm making much progress, even with the entire week off last week (yeah, Matt told me not to bother coming in, like he was doing me a favor). Today though, there were tons of jobs up on Careerbuilder, making up for the lack of them the last week and a half. I do have something brewing for the weekend, so keep your fingers crossed if you could.
I'm working a lot this week. 30 hours at BB, similiar hours at the day job. It sucks, and I'll only see rosendolf for an hour or so every night, but I guess you have to do what you have to do, especially since the next day job check will be for somewhere in the range of $200. Good Lord is that depressing.
Anyway, NYE was nice. We went to mom and dad's and hung out with the parents, grandma, Lisa, and "Baby" Olivia. Kinda scary that starting in July she wont' be the "Baby" anymore. That's right, Tara is pregnant and due in July again. It was good though, really good. We had our traditional Chick-Fil-A Nugget tray and lots of appetizer type food. Tip for the party throwers- Try Hawaiian sweet & sour sauce with your cocktail weiners (hehe) and meatballs instead of bbq sauce next time. It's gooood. Mostly we played Mario Party, and hung out. I also spent some quality time with Olivia, including playing Picnic, and beauty salon, and shark. Sookie at one point was deemed a baby shark, but a nice baby shark, who Olivia invited up onto the "boat" with us. Everybody up there has a cold too, so it was an early night, with only Rosendolf, Grandma and I staying up late enough to watch the ball drop.
To further backtrack-
Christmas was good. Granted, anything would be better than last year's sickfest, but it was good. We got a lot of nice stuff, gave a lot of (hopefully) nice stuff, and spent the day with family. It was nice to not have to run around too much. We spent Christmas Eve with Rosendolf's family, and Christmas Day with mine. Good times. No, really.
The job stuff has me worried, and did put a slight damper on the festivities, but I tried not to let it get me too down.
In other sad sad news, the Dayton Mall Marion's has burned down. It was a sad day.

Update on Sookie:
It was some sort of miracle, but she's pretty much okay. She came out of the shock yesterday, but still wasn't using one of her back legs. The docs did xrays on it, and she didn't have a break, but she did dislocate her leg/hip. They're putting her under today to relax her, and pop the joint back into place.
Best case scenario- She deals well with the sling and is up and back to her old self in a week or two
Worst case scenario- It either doesn't take, or they can't get it back in at all, and she has to get used to walking with a limp. They said that since she's a little dog, and just a year and a few months old, that she'll get used to a limp if need be.
She might not be able to jump through a hoop (which is her best trick so far) anymore, but even that she'll probably be okay, maybe just not so high of a hoop.
Thanks to all of you who gave well wishes. I love you guys!
I feel bad for my parents though. I don't know how they'll keep her quiet and settled down for the week she's in the sling. Apparently Bichons have this tendance to just go hyper for spurts throughout the day, and although she is only half Bichon, she's very much prone to tearing around the house like a nut.
Hopefully the pictures of her in the sling will be as cute/pathetic as one would hope. I'll post them if I can.
Mood: relieved

How the fuck do you not stop your car if you hit a dog?
Sookie is lying in an animal hospital in Middletown right now. She somehow got lose from her chain (it broke or the latch came unhooked or something), and my mom found her lying on the side of the road.
When my near hysterical mom called oure regular vet, the Animal Medical Center on Central Avenue, in Springboro/Franklin (near Tom Katz and Wendy's), they put her on hold, came back and told her there wouldn't be a doctor, and told her to take Sookie to an animal hospital in Cincinnati. They asked if she wanted the number, and she said she did, so they put her BACK on hold.
Then my mom called my sister Tara, to ask if she thought that their vet would be open, and Tara rushed over to mom's and they just went to this other vet. I forget their name, but I'll post it later when I find it out.
I can't believe those insensitive people at the ANIMAL MEDICAL CENTER ON CENTRAL IN SPRINGBORO/FRANKLIN.
I think that's the name anyway. If it's wrong, I'll change it. They shouldn't have done that. I guess they were too worried about losing her business by refering her to another vet then they were about her losing her dog.
The vet said that it doesn't seem like she's got any broken bones, but she's still in shock, so they're not 100% sure. They won't call tonight unless it's bad news, so hopefully mom won't hear from them until morning.
She's just over a year old. This sucks. She's a good little dog.

Where did the summer go?
So, yeah. I know, I know, I haven't updated since summer started, and here we are a week into September.
I'm just a bad LJer. The only time I'm online, or have real hard access to the online world is during the day though, and I can't really properly LJ while at work. I'm just not comfortable with it most of the time. I hate to get on at home because, yes, rosendolf and I are (thankfully) still in that "really glad to hang out together" stage. Plus, by the time we get home and get dinner fixed and eaten, it's 8:00 or later.
Anyway, summer has been great.
We've been doing a lot of hanging out with our families, Nichole in particular, which has been really cool.
We saw Chris Isaak at the Fraze in Dayton. He's a great show if you ever get the chance to see him. Lots of fun, plus he signed stuff after the show. Maybe not the coolest signature policy (he only signs merchandise), but at least I got most of my CDs signed.
We bought a tent sometime in the middle of summer. We haven't camped yet (we're waiting for the weather to cool off a bit), but we're excited. We visited my parents while they camped a few times, and it's just so relaxing. I think we could really use some quality relaxation time. For those of you who are campers in the greater Southwestern Ohio/Northern Kentucky area, go to Paint Creek. It's a hike, but it's beautiful, and Park Ranger/Naturalist extraordinaire Lance is awesome.
Work is work. Nothing much to say there. There are good days and bad days, same as anybody else has. I did go home crying one day which was totally freaking awesome. Yep, awesome....
We went to a large number of festivals this year. Bishop Fenwick's, St. Thomas Moore's, Rail Road Days in Carlisle, and most recently the Montgomery County Fair. All that being said and done, I think I only had a scant few bites of a funnel cake. I think that's some sort of crime. It voilates the carney code or something. I made up for it with Kettle Corn though. Oh Kettle Corn, how I love thee.
We also saw lots of movies, watched all of the West Wing season one DVDs, read lots of books, and thouroughly enjoyed the "road trip" shows that Food Network served up. Oh, and we got a (illegeal to our apartment lease) grill, so we've been having lots of BBQ chicken and beef. If we were the Rockafellers we'd have pork tenderloin or steak, but we're not, so we only have that when we go up to Dayton to visit my folks. Sadly we ended up only having really good sweet corn once. That my friends is a tragedy of epic summer proportions.
So that's my summer in a nutshell, Family, Festivals, Grilled Meats, and Kettle Corn. I'll let you know how the camping goes. Should be pretty rad, or at least pretty hilarious for those of you on the outside.

I never update
The charity thing went well. They raised something like $30,000 after costs were taken out, which is better than last year's event.
That said though, things didn't really settle down. They never do though here. It feels like it's always insanely fast-paced here at work. It's good and bad. It does make the days go by quicker, but there are so many days when I just feel overwhelmed.
Things are good at home. We've been helping my parents clean out their basement and get ready for a garage sale. Good Lord but am I a packrat. We found a box of my notes and papers from high school! They were promptly thrown away, after only a breif dream of finding some student who would pay for old tests and notes and such to help them get by. I threw away 2 cans worth of stuff, got a TON more stuff to sell in the garage sale, and still kept the stuff that was really important to me. It felt pretty damn good, truth be told.
A few weeks ago we went to my grandma's house. We Took Olivia and Jaden (my cousin's baby) to see farm animals (piglets, boars, cows, horses, and cats). Olivia & Jaden got into my grandma's new pigpen (they got 4 piglets that day) and loved it (no pigs had been in it until that exact same time, so it was still clean). It was just about the most adorable thing ever. They happily tried to feed the pigs corn and later the next day, pancakes. Olivia thought it was the funnies thing that ever happened (EVER) when one of the piglets picked up a pancake and was walking around with the whole thing in it's mouth. I guess you had to be there...or had to be a year and a half old.
I've been sick for about a week now. It's been a terrible cold. It's just kicking my ass. I had the added bonus of having a cold plus alergies on Saturday. SCORE!
No big plans for Memorial Weekend. No clue what we're doing. We've got Nichole, so we're slightly limited to rosendolf 's parent's house on Sunday (plus we're having dinner there friday for rosendolf 's dad's birthday). If my parent's camp on Saturday we might trek to Indiana for that, if they don't, we'll probably go to their house, or go visit Lisa, who is working at B.Moss' Findlay store (??) this week and last. Monday will be just rosendolf & I , so we'll likely end up watching a movie at home, or maybe (just maybe) venturing out of the apartment to catch a movie or something somewhere. We're up for suggestions should anyone want to throw any our way.

Busy Bee
My boss' Charity Organization, the Cincinnati Center for Autism is having it's annual Fundraiser this Thursday, so basically, I'm doing a ton of stuff for that. So much stuff, that I'm just too busy for anything other than work and Charity related things this week.
Anyhoo, I'm around and reading journals, just not commenting so much right now.

An update
But not a real update (that's cruel).
This is my niece, the best baby of all time.
So I got this new software at work and played around with it, and I made myself a little icon, so I figured I'd test it.
Background on the picture- This is from when tsalinaswas packing for Vegas. Baby O had just gotten up from her nap (hence the David Lee Roth-esque hair).

Phone call from Hell
The company I work for owns an office park out on the other side of town. One of the tenants called today, and this is the conversation I had with her:
She called, and Todd wasn't here (he handles the maintenance stuff over there), but that I could take a message. She called because a few of the the freaking lightbulbs are out in her office, and she wants us to come change them. Then she asked about the furnace checkup we sent a flyer out about, and I told her that if we had a key to her building, that we were there. Then she said that we couldn't have done that, because she never let us in, and we couldn't have gotten in. I said that if we had a key, we got in, and she said that we didn't do that because they have an alarm, and the police would have come because they are a "financial instituition" (They're a credit union). I said that she would need to call and make an appointment for it so they could come out when somebody was there. Then she started yelling at me that it was my responsibility to do this. I calmly told her that it wasn't actually my responsibility because I was just taking a message, and I just asked her to stop yelling at me because, again, i was just taking amessage for somebody else. She then asked why we "never" called if we were out there to tell her. I said that if we had a phone number for her, that we would have called, and that maybe we didn't have a number, and reminded her that we've sent out letters twice asking for someone from every business to call us and give us their updated contact information. Then she started yelling a lot, saying how she was sick of people shuffling the blame on somebody else, to wich I said "Ma'am, please stop yelling at me, this is not my job, I'm just taking a message" Then Tara said that I should hang up on her for yelling. Anyway, she ignored me and kept yelling, and I kept going "ma'am. Maam, maam" trying to interrupt, but she wouldn't stop yelling. Finally, she said that she was "sick of the feeble half-assed excuses" at which point I said "Ma'am, I'm going to hang up now" and she said "FINE, you do that!" and then she hung up on me! Then Tara was like "You go! That was awesome Julie" Then she called back, and I was shaking and almost crying from being so mad, and Tara answered, and put her into Todd's voice mail. She left Todd a message saying how *I* was mean to *her.*
Thing is though, she asked for me by my first and last name, so that means that I did in fact leave her a message, and she did in fact get the message, and she just decided to ignore it. I'm not in trouble. Apparently she's a bitch to everybody. We actually all sat around making fun of the situation. I think they were all trying to calm me down. I mean, I literally couldn't talk because I was about to cry, and my hands were shaking. It was nuts. Stupid lady.

Weird Dream 2/8/2006
It started out that I was a police officer on SVU. Elliot Stabler was my partner, and we were investigating a homicide. It so happened that the lady who was killed was the teacher for one of Elliot's kids. Anyway, we were looking into things, and the Crime Scene unit came out, and this one lady was screwing things up. We thought poison might be a possibility, but this CSI chick dumped the contents of the teacher's soup bowl (found near the body) down the drain, along with the leftover coke in a left near the body. I saw her do this then went to tell Elliot, but she was watching us, so I had to whisper it to him in a different room. So then he stood by her pretending to take notes and such, keeping an eye on her so she couldn't ruin any more evidence.
Then we went back to the station, and our mechinic here at work was there as a police officer too. We all sat around talking about why this lady would want to mess up the evidence, and Munch & Finn decide to investigate her while Stabler & I stay on the teacher angle of things.
After that pow-wow, I went home, and Rosendolf and I were on a coast, or a river or lake or something. There was water, and we were on the edge of it in this outdoor shopping area. We were discussing the upcoming Better Than Ezra tour, and were so excited that The Avett Brothers, Troubled Hubble *and* Dick Prall were both going to be openers, and that our pals Dick & The Hubbles scored us some free tickets, to every show we could drive ourselves to. Then my mom (who may or may not have been there all along) piped up and said she was glad to get to see Troubled Hubble again, and started singing a TH song, to which everybody around us joined in. Then Chris from Troubled Hubble showed up in swimming trunks and a towel (he was in the water I guess), and joined in the singing.
All of a sudden, people started to get eerily quiet. They started to stare off into the distance. There was some sort of fairly quick moving crazy chaotic storm. It ws just this pitch black cloud front heading our way, and people started to panic. We had 4 bags of stuff from shopping, 1 with clothes, 1 with groceries, 1 with groceries and clothes, and one with Christmas Presents. Then Elliot showed up with a bag of evidence from the crime scene from earlier. Elliot hands me the bag, and starts getting Lisa, Tara, Mom, Olivia (my niece, not from the SVU), etc. together and safe, and Jason and I run to this "save" station (like in a video game- go figure) and check our bags in. We figured it would be safer than trying to take them home through the panicked crowd. At one point Jason started to take the bags himself, and I started screaming because I was afraid of getting seperated from him in the chaos. After we saved (hehe), we got with Elliot and the family and headed to shelter. The storm was freaky; like end of the world scary. This is when I woke up at 6:33 this morning, and couldn't fall back asleep until about 7:10, after my alarm went off for the 2nd time. It was just unnerving on many levels. It was awesome that I got to be a detective though.

Hey-ho-a-lina
Friday we saw BR5-49 with opening act The Avett Brothers. Holy Crap. Seriously. What a fantastic show.
We went to dinner at Shanghai MaMa's before the show (mmm, terriakayi chicken [No, no I don't feel like looking up the correct spelling, thank you very much]). It was great. We chatted it up with the folks next to us, and headed down to Southgate House. We got a spot at a meter, so hells yeah, free parking. It's insanely rare down there anymore. Too bad you can't park in the Goodyear lot anymore. Those were the days.
The Avett Brothers are...well, they're down home country rock. Like serious Appalachian roots rock. The singers, who were on banjo and guitar, and happened to be actual brothers had probably the strongest voices I've heard outside of the Broadway/Musical arena. Talk about projection. Honestly, they probably didn't really need the microphones. The third of the trio was on the stand up bass. Jeez but the stand up bass is just about the coolest thing. Seriously, there's something so cool about them. Anyway, they brought the rock. Real, true, honest, down to earth ROCK. Really, I don't know how to explain it. It was good. VERY good. You should all check them out. Even if you don't like country (hell, I don't like new country), you should check them out. I never remember how to do real tags in this thing, but www.theavettbrothers.com is their site. They've got a new album coming out 2/7, and I assure you, Rosendolf and I will be first in line.
BR5-49 also brought the rock (again, real, true, honest....). They've got a very retro feel to them. It's the style of music though, very Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash-esque. They wear the old suits, and vintage shirts, and the whole nine yards. Again, a stand up bass rocked out beautifually. Maybe the best part though, were these 3 guys in the audience. One was in a western shirt, had sort of biggish hair, and mutton chops, and the Elvis aviator gold sunglasses. The second was...well, he was what I always picture when people in movies and books set in the 30s refer to as a "Piker" Very "Irish punk kid who works down on the docks" kind of a look. Kind of like the bully's henchman kid in A Christmas Story. Newsboy sort of hat, leather jacket over a hoodie, over a tshirt, with broken in black doc martens. The third guy was pure hayseed. A self, and Rosendolf, proclaimed "Fat Bastard", complete with straw cowboy hat, Motorhead tshirt, and blue overalls. Normally, the whole "people dancing around and having a good time" thing annoys the living hell out of me, but these three were pretty much how we thought the whole audience would be (really it was just the 3 of them), and they were so much fun to watch. The piker kept...it was almost like he was worshiping and studying Chuck Mead on the guitar. Elvis mostly followed Piker, and danced around a little. He also hopped up on stage a couple of times, once falling off and kicking me in the leg rather hardly. Fat Bastard just danced and yelled, and tried to get the rest of the crowd as worked up as he was. You could tell the three really loved the band. It was great. Seriously, I know it might not sound like it, but it really was.
As an encore, both BR5-49, and The Avett Brothers all came up on stage together, and seriously brought the house down.
They're playing at Elbo's in Dayton tonight (Sunday), and we're thinking of going. It was that good. Any of you Dayton kids not doing anything tonight, you should go.

Last Night's Dream
I don't remember all of it, but the last dream I had this morning was a doozy. Kenny Rogers was a serial killer, and I was his intended victim.

Not really
Someday I'll update again. I'll talk about being insanely sick on Christmas, but how it was still an awesome Christmas. I'll also talk about how New Year's Eve was the usual low key dorkfest wtih my sisters and Monica and Jason and my parents, and how it owned because we played Harry Potter Scene It and Bitch Rummy and had a Chick-Fil-A Nugget Tray. I might also talk about how I'm going to Vegas with my sisters in March, and how I'm a little excited about it. I'm only worried because I don't like to gamble, but I've been reassured that this won't be a problem, as there is a ton of stuff to do there.
But, that is all for another time (maybe). Mostly I wanted to test out the new avatar/icon.
